The Psalms as Music

New music set to the text of the Psalms, performed without paraphrase from the biblical text (KJV).

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Colossians 3:16-17

Paul Ayres has been in the process of arranging a new work for Psalm 22 that will feature solo vocals, SATB choir, & orchestra. Sheet music for the piano SATB version is now available. Paul has also completed piano/SATB arrangements for Psalm 48 and Psalm 115 to be used in church choir settings.

A new album inspired by The Psalm Book of Charles Knowles is getting closer to its release in the coming months. Produced by Jason Hoard, and recorded by some of the most gifted musicians and singers in Christian contemporary music, this new album brings to life eight psalm-settings by David Albracht honoring the eight psalms Charles Knowles depicted as images and text in his beloved book.

Psalm 85 and Psalm 88 from the Pastoral Psalms album have been chosen to be featured on, which has an amazing comprehensive collection of modern contemporary music centered around all 150 psalms in the Bible.
