Psalm 115, Not unto us, O Lord, is the longest in duration of the three songs featured on the Make A Joyful Noise! album, at nearly 7 minutes. The time signature at the beginning is 3/4, then changes to 6/8 for verses 3-8, and then back to 3/4 for the remainder of the song. The key changes at verse 12, The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us. The finale is dramatic and loud, reminiscent of Hallelujah choruses. Indeed, the closing phrase of Psalm 115, “Praise the Lord” in the King James Version is translated “Hallelujah” in other Bible translations.
